To mark Emperor Wilhelm II's 100th anniversary, 70 VIP guests were invited to an exclusive reception in the white hall in Castle Bad Homburg, with a chamber orchestra to match the venue and short speeches held. For the occasion, the Kofler team in Frankfurt prepared a special festive five-course menu with regional and seasonal ingredients. Guests savoured a variation of Taunus range trout, a sorbet of peaches and winemaker's selection sparkling wine from Rheingau followed by saddle of venison roast in a nut crust – the sort of fare Kaiser Wilhelm II would have enjoyed too. Kofler's ancestors were also purveyors to Wilhelm's royal court, responsible for supplying pastries and sweets.
