CULTURE IN FOOD SINCE 1823
In 1823 the Kofler town bakery was founded in Bad Homburg, which purveyed the Court of Emperor Wilhelm II. And in 1991 it was in keeping with this family tradition that KP Kofler founded Kofler & Kompanie in the attic of his parents’ confectioner’s shop in Bad Homburg. Kofler & Kompanie has since evolved from a regional provider into the sector leader, delivering premium event catering services, operating the airport lounges of Emirates Airlines in Germany and gaining a firm foothold in the sports hospitality segment.

Kofler & Kompanie has also always had an exceptional nose for culinary venues and event locations. Evidence of this are the cafés in the Deutsches Historisches Museum, the Bode Museum and the Jewish Museum in Berlin, which Kofler & Kompanie partners on an exclusive basis. Another highlight is the “The Magazine” restaurant designed in 2013 by the star architect Zaha Hadid for London’s “Serpentine Sackler Gallery.” Also well worth a mention is the company’s successful Pret A Diner pop-up project, renowned for its blend of Michelin-starred cuisine, art, culture and entertainment in unusual locations – from former factory buildings to gothic churches.

In 2009, as part of its diversification strategy, the company founded “International Hospitality Management”, an international sports hospitality joint venture which has provided sports hospitality at such prestigious events as the FIFA World Cup in Germany (2006), South Africa (2010) and Brazil (2014) and the Confederations Cup (2013) and the Winter Olympics in Sochi (2014). Today the entire sports business is operated by Gourmet Sports Hospitality AG (GSH), formerly Infront Hospitality Management AG, which is fully integrated into the K&K Group AG. GSH already has three stadiums in its full service food and beverage portfolio including the Allianz Parque in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The company is growing and is steadily extending its international footprint, as demonstrated by its contract for VIP catering for the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi (most recently in 2013). At the same time, the caterer of the year – a distinction conferred in 2014 – remains faithful to its roots and has units in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne and Munich in Germany.
